Speaker of the Month – November
This Wednesday we are pleased to welcome Col. Jim Wilson, USAF, retired. Col. Wilson has had a long history of military service. He is a former graduate of the US Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then went on to complete Air Command and Staff College, Industrial College of the Armed forces, and Naval War College. He attended pilot training and flew with the 16th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron, the Air Force’s first operational RF-4C squadron. He was deployed to South Vietnam and flew 221 tactical reconnaissance missions over North Vietnam, Laos and South Vietnam. After the war he was assigned to RAF Alconbury, England where he served as a flight commander and flying safety officer. He served in many assignments through his military career and became a command pilot more than 4,000 flying hours. His military decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with three campaign stars. He now is retired from the military and serves as a volunteer project manager, and emeritus member of the Board of Directors at the Aerospace Museum of California. Col. Wilson will be speaking to CAA students at 10:30, Wednesday, November 30, at the Museum. Parents are welcome to attend.
