Dear Parents and Guardians;

Many of you may have heard from the media or other parents’ rumors that California Aerospace Academy is closing. I want to assure you that the school will continue to operate and provide quality educational programs as usual. Currently, California Aerospace Academy working collaboratively with Twin Rivers USD as the authorizing district is in the Charter Renewal process. The media release from the California Charter Schools Association is considered advisory information to the authorizing district. Twin Rivers USD and Gateway Community Charters will make informed decisions based on education code regarding charter renewal.  We are looking forward to an amazing second semester with you and your child. Thank you for entrusting California Aerospace Academy with the education of your child.

Final Grades – Students completed their finals on Friday. Unless prior arrangements were made with teachers or administration, all students were expected to be at school and take their exams.  All missing work was due before final exams.  Semester grades will be posted on January 2.  New schedules will be distributed upon students’ return on January 3.

Volunteer recognition – On Friday the staff of CAA recognized parents who have given their time to the school this past semester.  Parents were invited to a luncheon hosted by CAA staff and presented with a certificate of appreciation.  We want to publically thank the following wonderful parent volunteers:  Catherine Gier, Cheryl Andenson, Christie Moses, Galina Pyavka, Jeremy Musgrave, Jessica Bustamante, Kati Bish, Lori Bailey, Lynda Barber, Raymond Torres, Regina Pyavka, Tammy Musgrave, Tanya Scott, Toni Nordstrom, Vickie Roy, David Viani, Stephanie Bracy, Tommye Birckelbaw, and Randy Birckelbaw.

Dress Code – With the two weeks of vacation, students are expected to have their uniforms washed and ready to wear upon their return.  We are having a very difficult time with students who insist on wearing jeans or inappropriate attire.    Please see that you student comes to school dress appropriately.  That means a black, navy blue, or gray polo shirt and khaki, black, gray, or navy blue slacks.  NO Jeans are allowed!  Shorts are not a part of the winter dress code.  All students and parent signed a dress code contract at the beginning of the year.  Students not in dress code will be calling home to get the proper clothing to continue their day.  If you have any questions, please refer to your student or parent handbook.
