Dress Code

Dress Code - New for 2011-2012

 

The California Aerospace Academy is a career academy and therefore students are expected to dress for success in the workplace.  Students are expected to wear the following every day to school unless there is a special allowance for free dress which will be announced in advance:

 

  • Plain(may have CAA or CAP logo) navy blue, black  or gray polo or dress shirt with a  collar
  • Shirts must be buttoned and tucked into trousers at all times
  • All students must wear a belt
  • Pants must be khaki, black, tan, navy blue – no jeans or denim
  • Pants must be worn around the waist – no sagging
  • August – October 31 and April 1 – June students may wear hemmed knee length shorts; khaki, black, tan or navy blue; no jeans or denim  Girls may wear knee length khaki, black, tan or navy blue skorts; no jeans or denim
  • Navy blue, black, or gray plain sweatshirts or sweaters with no hoods (no checks, stripes, designs, logos except CAA or CAP logo)
  • Closed toed shoes with low heels

 

PE attire

  • Must wear school PE clothes which are available for purchase at school
  • Blue or gray sweat pants may be worn on top of the PE uniform. May purchase PE sweats from CAA.
  • Tennis shoes with socks
  • All students must have a water bottle
  • PE grades will be affected if students do not dress out

 

Items that are never allowed on campus

  • Anything red (shirts, undershirts, pants, shoestrings, backpacks, belts, etc.)
  • Hats, caps or head coverings, this includes hoods
  • Belts that are more than 4 inches too long or hang down or have a flashy buckle
  • Slippers, flip-flops, sandals, strapless shoes, high heels, platform shoes, wheelies, roller skates
  • Chains of any kind
  • Sleepwear
  • Sweatpants or athletic wear (except for PE)
  • Tank, tube, halter, spaghetti-strap, or other tops that bare shoulders, cleavage, or midriffs

 

Note: Students coming to school out of dress code will not be allowed in class.  They will be sent to the office where they will call home to get the appropriate clothing.
