James W. Hopp, Major General, USAF (Retired)

General Hopp has over 40 years of leadership and management experience providing weapon system program management, logistics and supply chain management, information technology, and strategic planning to U.S. military services, the Department of Defense, private industry, and foreign governments.

 

His experience includes commanding organizations from Supply Squadrons to the $ 1.0B AF Logistics Management System Center, and serving as the Vice Commander, Sacramento Air Logistics Center (SM-ALC), and Commander, Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC). He has served as a consultant in Supply Chain and Logistics Management for several private companies, as well as for the Commander of the Air Force Materiel Command and for the Department of Defense.

 

He served 30 years active duty with the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Major General.  He enlisted in the US Navy Reserve and served for 3 years before enlisting in the US Air Force and was commissioned through the Officers Training School program in 1963.

 

His overseas assignments in the Air Force took him to Greenland, Thailand, and Hawaii and after he retired to Kuwait and Malaysia.

 

He is the currently the President of the Aerospace Museum of California Foundation Board, in Sacramento, CA, a Director of SAFE Credit Union, a former Director on the California Capital Air Show Board of Directors, and a Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church serving at Holy Trinity Parish in El Dorado Hills, CA.
