The Parents of CAA is teaming up with EAA Golden West Air Show to bring the students of CAA an opportunity to compete in the schools very first aviation competition. EAA Golden West will be supplying the school with three kits for their WILD BLUE WONDER competition. Each team will consist of five flight team members, up to five ground crew members and one flight instructor. The competition will judge each team in five areas and the team with the highest ranking score will be determined the winners. Some examples of what the students will be participating in are; making a flight plan, and then flying that flight plan on the simulator with no errors, creating a team log book, mission statement, motto and patch, a Runway skit, a game show session and of course a balsa airplane building and flight session.

This is an opportunity for our student to apply what they are learning everyday to a true hands on event. The preparation for this event is approximately 60 hours and will require a tremendous amount of focus and commitment from our students. The preparation for the competition will take place at the school after school as well as possible a few Saturday schools. The competition will be held on Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Golden West Air Show. The air show is being held at the Yuba City Airport in Marysville. Due to the times we will be meeting and the date of the event, the parents will also need to make a commitment to this program. They will need to be available to pickup their student at the end of our session. Students who commit to doing this competition will need to arrange their own transportation to the event.
